1. Tournament Prize Calculator

Overview
The Tournament Prize Calculator is a web-based tool designed to automate the distribution of prizes in a chess tournament based on predefined rules in the tournament brochure. Users can upload player rankings, define prize distribution rules, and generate a PDF report of the prize winners.
Software Logic/functionality
By default, when the prize money is the same, precedence is given to the main prizes.
For example, if a player named X secures the 15th position in the main prizes with a prize of Rs. 15,000 and also qualifies for the same amount in the Below 1700 category with a 3rd prize, the software will automatically place him in the main prize list. However, in the priority settings, you can change the preference to rank. In this case, he will receive the 3rd prize in the Below 1700 category, as the priority is now set to rank. In the advanced settings, you can assign priorities to any category.
Note: Organizers can enhance transparency by specifying the priority strategy in the tournament brochure. For example, they can include a statement such as: If a prize amount is the same across categories, the winner will be placed in the main prize category. This ensures clarity for all participants.
In the age category prizes, participants from all lower age categories are eligible for prizes in the higher age categories. For example, in the Under-15 age category, participants from the Under-12 or any other lower age category are eligible to receive prizes in the Under-15 category.
Since this application can handle both simple and complex prize structures, organizers can now create any type of prize structure without hesitation.
