Chandigarh U-13 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2012

on 25th and 26th August, 2012

at St. Xavier’s Senior Sec. School Sec-44 C, Chandigarh

ENTRY FEE

Rs. 200 + 50 (Entry Fee + Annual Registration).

LAST DATE OF ENTRY

Sept 7th, 2012

ELIGIBILITY

Participant should be a resident/domicile of Chandigarh.

Or

Studying in any educational institution located in Chandigarh.

Or

Working in Chandigarh.

AGE LIMIT

Born on and after 01-01- 1999

GENERAL

  1. The first round will start at 9 A.M on Sept 8, 2012.
  2. Top two players in each category will represent Chandigarh in the Nationals being held at Tamilnadu  from 13 – 23 Oct 2012.
  3. The organising committee reserves its right to accept or reject any entry received after due date.
  4. Mere submission of entry does not confirm the eligibility of a participant.
  5. Entries close with

Rules & Regulations

  1. The tournament will be played under Swiss  System.
  2. The total number of rounds and detailed program will be announced before the start of the Tournmaent.
  3. Each round will be of 60 min + 15 Sec Increment.
  4. Walk-over time will be of  half an hour.
  5. If a player is absent in any two consecutive rounds his withdrawal from the tournament will be automatically assumed.
  6. TIE-BREAK :  In case of a tie the following rules will be applied in descending order  a) Bucholz Tie-Breaks b) Toss/Draw of lots.
  7. The organising committee reserves its right to change or alter the rules if necessary without prior intimation.
  8. In all cases of disputes and/or Interpretation of the rules the decision of the organising committee will be final and binding on all players. Protest, If any, against the decision of the organising committee shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs. 500/- within ½ an hour of the occurrence of the incident. The amount shall be refunded if appeal is upheld by the committee.
  9. Smoking in the tournament Hall is strictly prohibited.
  10. All participants are expected to maintain silence and discipline in Tournament Hall.
  11. The organising committee can introduce the chess clock (Minimum 10 minutes each will be given) at any stage of any game and no appeal against it will be entertained.
  12. No friendly games or analysis of games is allowed inside the tournament hall.
  13. International Chess Sets will be used.
  14. Players should bring their own chess clock.
