Rs. 700/- (Entry fee will be accepted online through www.chandigarhchess.com)

Note: AICF registration of Rs. 250/- is compulsory for the Year 2022-23. Please register through https://prs.aicf.in/players

The Entry fee should be sent along with self-attested copy of original date of birth certificate (Birth Certificates from Panchayat / Municipality /Corporation only accepted) to the following email: vipneshb@gmail.com

ELIGIBILITY

Participant should be a resident/domicile of Chandigarh.

Or

Studying in any educational institution located in Chandigarh.

Or

Working in Chandigarh.

GENERAL

1. Reporting time for the first round is02:15 P.M on 25^th Nov 2022. First round will start at 02:45 PM.
2. Top four players will be selected to represent Chandigarh in the forthcoming MPL Senior National Chess Championship-2022 at New Delhi from 22 Dec 2022.
3. All participants must be registered with AICF.
4. The organising committee reserves its right to accept or reject any entry received after due date.
5. Mere submission of entry does not confirm the eligibility of a participant.
6. Entry once paid is non-refundable.
7. Parents and accompanying persons are not allowed inside tournament hall at all times.
8. By enrolling for the events, the players have to abide by all the terms and conditions of the championship for participation.
9. All players, parents and accompanying persons should follow COVID 19 protocol guidelines. No one is allowed without mask at the venue.

Rules & Regulations

1. The tournament will be played under Swiss System.
2. of rounds and detail schedule will be decided before the start of the first round.
3. If a player is absent in any round without informing his withdrawal from the tournament will be automatically assumed.
4. Default Time: Default time for arriving to the chessboard is 15 minutes.
5. Time Control: The rate of play shall be 60 minutes with an increment of 15 seconds per move from move number one.
6. Tie Break: Following is the order of tie-break:

(a) Buchholz Cut 1

(b) Buchholz

(c) Sonneborn Berger

(d) Direct encounter

(e) The greater number of wins (forfeit included)

(f) The greater number of wins by black

7. Protest: In all cases of disputes and/or Interpretation of the rules the decision of the organising committee (Chandigarh Chess Association) will be final and binding on all players. Protest, if any, against the decision of the organising committee shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs. 1000/- within 15 min of the occurrence of the incident. The amount shall be refunded if appeal is upheld by the committee.
8. The organising committee reserves its right to change or alter the rules, if necessary, without prior intimation.
9. All participants are expected to maintain silence and discipline in Tournament Hall.
10. No friendly games or analysis of games is allowed inside the tournament hall.
11. International Chess Sets will be used.
